Default Delivery day today

So after weeks of waiting for the car to arrive, it's finally arrived and done with the PDI. This is my first experience with Jaguar delivery and would like to know if there's anything special I should be looking for/asking?

I'll be driving down by 12 to get there by 2pm so any information would be greatly appreciated.

Yeah, try not to get a speeding ticket on your very first day! (Make that, any day).

Congratulations and Happy Motoring.

Best regards,
RJ52

P.S. My only advice, on this most special day, is to take your time in taking the delivery (excited as you undoubtedly are, your brain might lag behind during the euphoria).

Ask them to show you the proper way to close the hood, if they don't do this already. My dealer did.

Ask them not to wash it... notorious for swirl marks.

My dealer never showed me how to use the dashboard computer were all the settings are made. Make sure you go through every setting. Most questions on this board are about that. Have them match your phone with the infotainment center. Run through door locking and unlocking. Closing hood from the front. Rear fog lights. Lights and windshields are complicated. Steering wheel controls are also complex for phone and music. Seat settings also complicated.

It just dawned on me:

I would never want/let any dealer on any new car (or any car bought from a dealer) I purchased to put their dealership sticker on my car. (That kinda goes without saying, though I just did).

I would also insist on NO FRONT LICENSE PLATE (bracket)***. Depending on your jurisdiction - if absolutely necessary - I would opt for the Sto n Show bracket everyone on this Forum who must have a front plate raves about. Of course, I would opt for no front plate at all.

Good luck!

***Upon further inspection of your photo, too late! No problem and can be "corrected".

^ This. It amazes me people let dealerships stick their crap on the back. Even worse it usually is at a "jaunty" angle from giving it to the most junior member of the give-a-**** department....talking about you CarMax.

I bought a preowned XFR from an Audi franchise and when I noticed their sticker I told the sales guy remove it or tear up the paperwork; he apologised for the "egregious mistake" ;-)

I did remember to request that they not glue on their logo, and they complied. (Don't know if they would of.) But I was quite surprised that they didn't install the front license plate bracket - they left it up to me, which was pretty cool. Been running mostly front-plateless ever since.

For my dealership, all the f types on the lot did not have any front place brackets despite it being a law in California. All I had to sign was a liability form saying the dealership is not responsible for any no-front-plate tickets. (Which I think is common).

I too insisted on no front plate, and made sure to get it on the order when it was placed. The front plates typically are screwed directly to the plastic and that's not OK with me.

Dealership badges on the back are not that common out where I am. Usually when I see one it's on a car that was brought here from out of state. License plate frames are the typical dealer advertisement.

I drove with the front plate on the dash with a rag around it to keep it from scratching stuff. It took me a couple of weeks to figure out about Sto and Sho.

And, as much as I love my dealer - OK, appreciate - wouldn't run a license plate frame from them either (unless they paid me...and even then).

I finally got the car and drove it three hours back home. The salesman spent a good hour explaining everything to fo with the electronics and did a good presentation. I must say I was pleasantly surprised by the care they took to make sure the cars spotless and ready to go.

I can't believe I'm here writing and not driving it...

Thanks for all the advice people, happy to be part of this forum.

Cheers

All the dealerships I've ever delt with here in nj won't put a front plate on there higherend cars. For example the local bmw dealership won't put front plates on any M car or any car that has an M package. When I bought the gtr a few years back they explicitly told me that even if I wanted a front plate they wouldn't put it on. Obviously a joke from the dealership but still they asked. The jag dealership here actually asks all there client before delivery if they want a plate or not.

EDIT Where are my manors congrats on the new car op enjoy it in health and happiness.
