Default Direct Injection, Explained and how to care for it

Informative and easily understood video from FCPEuro on Direct Injection.

Related parts that may be affected over time and how to care for the system.

Thanks @Valerie Stabenow that was a very educational video and I appreciate you posting it. If you watch it in 1.25 speed it sounds a bit like a South Park cartoon so it makes it a bit more entertaining as well 😄

I watched it and thought it unusual that there was no mention of fuel additives being useful or ameliorative in cleaning the valves and/or the injector nozzles.

Additives might help with the injectors, but since no fuel sprays on the intake valves I can't imagine any benefit there.

For their combined effort, Subaru and Toyota went with a hybrid system. It used direct injection but still had conventional injection. It's been a few years since I read about it so I can't remember if it was port or TBI, but at low engine speed and power, it used that, with DI taking over as RPM and load increased. The claimed benefits were in low-speed drivability and keeping the intake valves cleaner.
