I have one on order so I don't know what kind of reaction I will get in my area, but you might think of the C7 Z06 for the same amount of money. I think it has a lot more, in your face, look at me type of car. Cecil........

If you're just an attention *****, best just get yourself a pimp mobile, or marry a Kardashian.

Or both!

The Coupe R is definitely rarer but that hasn't been my experience in LA. Rare doesn't equate to attention when there are some very high dollar rides roaming around next to it. Especially since the more elegant design of the F-type isn't that flashy....well until you punch the throttle.

I will say that the attention you do get is always positive. I never feel like people think I'm a douche nozzle in a nice car.

Then you should purchase the Alpha Romeo 4C. Less expensive and not the same quality as the Jag but probably will get you more looks.

Yes that was interesting, but this one is even more interesting. And he doesn't even bother to open the door!

In fairness to OP, status (via cars, jewelry, clothing, etc.) is normal and part of evolution. Nothing wrong with wanting some attention. Just don't be a jerk about it

You get the looks from non-gear heads and they do not know an F-Type. The R has almost no distinguishing (Especially without ceramic brakes) features, it is just an F-Type. They know what a Ferrari or Lamborghini is.
As for the rareness of the car, again who cares, for gear heads a Jag is not special enough and non-gear heads do not know what it is. My XKR-S is much rarer than any F-Type and has a much more aggressive looks with the fixed CF wing and splitter. It is not a Ferrari or Lambo. It gets maybe the attention of an Aston or Maserati... a 1999 Ferrari 360 will draw more attention ....

Garnering attention is part and parcel with many cars; I used to get plenty of attention in a wonderful Subaru WRX (can't beat that car in the snow!). Surely that's not the [sole] reason someone should be buying a Jag or any car for that matter. Personally, I don't care where you live and what [exotics] you see, the Jaguar F-Type is a unique and stunning car and I guarantee you you'll get plenty of attention. Whether you'll [always] want it is another matter.

Good afternoon Officer....

However if those type of vehicles are rare then yes you'll probably get even more attention.
This... However, people who are true automotive enthusiast will recognize the car regardless of what's around it. It will get you attention, and I would say, more so than other cars within the same price range (new that is).

OP, if you are including used cars in that price range, that opens the door to other cars which are always attention getters (like Ferrari's) but they are also wallet wreckers.

As somebody was saying in a post above, i feel the car gets positive attention.

Non gear heads think it's a Maserati or an Aston Martin, gear heads know it's an R. Instead of using the valet when going out, i tip them to let me park it myself in front of the place. They've told me they've never had a car that people took so many pictures of.

In not too many words, i am glad i went with the R instead of the Gallardo, Vantage or the DBS i was considering.

Here is the truth of it....I think color has a lot to do with how a car presents out in public.

I had a lunar gray / red zone 2010 XFR, and that car got crazy attention for 5 years!! And it was a sedan!

With that experience, I expected to get a crazy amount of attention in my white / red zone F-Type R, but it just doesn't get that much attention....a little bit....but not what I expected and not as much as the XFR (especially when that car was new)

I've only had it since Halloween so we will see what happens when the weather gets nice....
