V12 sounds better... but revving car in park is not good for it.

For, twice the money.

Is it me or does the V6 sound more exotic?

Of course, and this is overthinking it, sound - like beauty - might just be in the eyes (and ears) of the beholder.

The recording and playback has a lot to do with this. That particular V6 has a different overrun sound than mine. Whereas that one has a raspy sounding backfire, mine elicits distinct and separate backfires (blam, blam, blam). Maybe that one has the 200 cell cats on it.

Regardless of sound (although the V12 does sound 1.25x better when on the road) 2 demerits to the Aston for the pop up nav. Also like the exhaust pipes on the Jag better.

I have 200 cell cats on my SVR and the backfires are distinct (blam, bllam, blam) with exhaust flaps open or closed. I do agree however that the V6 recording blams were not distinct. I wonder if the mic was being over driven by them.

They both sounds great, but very different. The V12 does have an edge, but I would not say it sounds twice as good.

Sound is subjective. Vision not so much and the V12 looks twice as good when you open the hood!

Clearly he has NOT had the dealer screw it up with the replacement O2 sensors...mine USED to have the overrun. Now I only get a hint of it between 3500 and 4K on decel.

Given that the Aston is probably the best sounding engine you can get (to me) I was surprised how good the f type sounded in comparison.

A 12 sounds even better in Italian. A somewhat higher pitch to my ears.

I have owned a V12 Vantage, 6sp, Carbon Edition. There is no comparison, not in the real world, not behind the wheel.

12 is better, yet my 8 is quite satisfying.
A question for the wise forum members...is the over-run at 1:47 in the 6 vid typical in your experience, whether 6 or 8?
Thanks in advance.

My car (V8S) has crazy amounts of overrun all the way through the rev range when in dynamic. Dynamic & sport is really obnoxious in terms of overrun and is actually a little embarrassing.

If you're referring to the two pops right at 1:47, almost sounds like the mic overloaded. The rest sounds pretty normal.

It may be the mic, but I glanced at the tach too, which looked like it was over redline.

I accidentally hit the rev-limiter in 1st gear once, and the machine-gun exhaust effect was pretty horrible.

before the VAP tune, hitting redline was quite embarrassing. With the tune, I don’t hit redline as often (now at 7000rpm instead of 6800) and when it does, it just unceremoniously runs out of steam.
