Default Exhaust Tips

Hello all! Happy Friday!

Finally had a chance to drop the Jag off at Tag Motorsports again last week. I had them cut the tips off and send them out for ceramic coating.

They look great! All chrome pieces have now been painted...

Nice. So it's actually cut off? Just can't take them out w/o permanent cutting?

Thumbs up

You're brave cutting them off!, but the results look very sweet indeed, just like the Project 7's.

I'm considering a less intrusive way to spray mine in situ with a satin black heat resistant paint....that is, just as soon as I have worked out how to get the paint to stick WITHOUT sanding or keying the surface chrome....there must be a way!?

Correct. They needed to cut the tack welds to remove the tips.

Oh, so they just need to cut the tack welds and not physically cut the entire pipe to separate it from the tips?

Yes. It was a very easy process.

Hello, I am about to do the same thing as you've done, have the tips cut off and use black ceramic coating. Thanks for sharing this info!
Can I ask what are the size of your tires front and back. Your f type looks amazing. I see this is an older post so I may not get a replay back. Best, Rob

Hi Burt,

I really like the look of your black F Type R. I just bought the same colour last year. Can you tell me the size of your tires? They look larger than stock. Best, Rob

we're doing some exhaust and tips mods this week. however those tips look near identical to ones we painted in our shop garage. total investment... $10.
