I got mine from Classic Additions with custom piping to highlight the front grille.

I must say that it's "comforting" having my F-Type covered...

...even if it's far more enjoyable and gratifying driving it!

The car looks much better uncovered. They just collect dust which is deposited all over the car when taken off and put back on. Why not just hose the car down, and dry.

I'm curious, why do people feel the need for a cover on a garaged car, unless it's being stored for years and not driven until it qualifies for antique car status?

Depending on the cover (i.e. not a cheapy), they can help mitigate "garage traffic" damage. For me during winters, my daughter is in and out of the garage getting sleds and whatever else she's playing with outside. I also have a race car which is in the garage that I work on during the winter so a cover would keep metal shavings and other potentially damaging dust from the car.. I could go on but I'm sure it's different for each person.

Now if I had a garage which didn't see "traffic" or wasn't part of my workshop, I likely wouldn't use a cover during non-driving months.

No question the car looks better uncovered. Having said that, my F-Type is gonna be parked over the winter - with the exception being clear (snow and salt free) days; rare though that might be during winter in Maine - and whether I keep it in my garage or a friends, it's a small price to pay for a little added "protection". Besides, it's not like pulling out a hose and washing it down - in winter, in Maine - is easy to do (without driving to a self-serve car wash).

Thanks for your reply.

another good reason to cover the car in RickyJay52's case is that he parks in an exposed timber garage. People don't realize how much these construction timbers and even the OSB sheathing will weep tree pitch, as well as other organic substances.

I have the same question as well as a follow up...
RickyJay52, can you provide a link to where you purchased your cover?
and how much you paid if you don't mind sharing?

Good answer.

Indeed, it is the Coverking Satin Stretch and I received, I believe, a 15% discount off the listed price ($400/$425?). Mine is all Black (many other colors are available; I think the two-tone would be more $). I called the company to let them know I received it - thanked them for their prompt delivery - and asked them for a "Jaguar Forum" discount which they plan to send me and I will post as soon as I get it*.

*And I do not have any affiliation with Coverking nor do I receive any compensation from them, other than sharing it with you.

Best regards,
RJ52

Default Discount Code for Coverking F-Type Cover

Ok...after some mild arm [e-mail] twisting, I was able to secure a 25% discount (previously was told it was to be 15%) off the regular price of Coverking covers for the members of this forum.

I used my "clout" [HA!] as a long-standing member of the Madison Avenue Sports Car Driving & Chowder Society (true) - shameless group of gear heads we are - which would explain why the coupon code to receive your 25% discount is as follows:

MASDCC

Here's a link to their website: www.coverking.com

I'm told that that code is valid for 60 days.

Happy to help! (And just for the record: I have no affiliation with Coverking - and no strings attached - other than being a satisfied customer with my Satin Stretch Cover for my F-Type V6S).

Best regards,
RJ52

Thank you rkrenek...

What I mean by going back to the drawing board is I already contacted Coverking to attempt to get an even better deal for forums members...

Not sure it's possible but damned if I won't try.

ADDENDUM: I have been in contact with Coverking - on behalf of this forum - today, and hoping of sweetening the deal soon. No promises but I am trying.

I'd appreciate hearing thoughts about why the Jaguar cover might not be the best choice to use for inside storage. I was considering a Coverking satin stretc cover because they look great, but I think they'll be hard to keep clean from dust. So I'm seriously considering the cover offered by Jaguar. Any thoughts or advice?

Whilst I have no direct knowledge of the OEM Jaguar cover, I do know my dealer - a wonderful guy who provided me with an excellent price on my F-Type - wanted to charge me $500 for it. I did a bit of research and came up with the Coverking Satin Stretch for its looks, effectiveness for indoor [only] use, and - lastly - the price. I have been in contact with Coverking's marketing guy who provided me with a discount code for this forum but one of the members here made note that the same thing is available, cheaper, elsewhere...even with the code. THAT prompted me to get back to said marketing guy - hoping that he would sweeten the deal here for JaguarForum members and readers - but haven't heard back from him (and actually sent him an e-mail last night).

Best regards,
RJ52

SORRY FOR THIS DUPLICATE POST. I didn't think my first note posted. Does anyone have an opinion on whether or not the Jaguar F-Type cover would not be suitable for indoor storage? I like the look of the Coverking satin stretch covers but I recently received some fabric samples and it looks like the material will really collect dust, so will not be so easy to keep clean as the Jaguar cover. Thoughts?
