F-type Convertible base with a S on the back
I find badge snobs tiresome and even worse that people that stick badges where they don't belong. If someone wants to drive base with SVR, Alipina, M, Brabus or whatever badge on it.. let them.
Its worse with Mustangs. I've seen V6s done up like GT500s. I've heard them referred to as 'posers' or 'wannabes.'
HI, thank you all. I did check out my VIN # and it notes... it is a F-Type Base, not a 'S" is mentioned, so be it.
Of course keeping the Badge as F-Type" only. love the car as it is. I am going to ask the Dealer per the Jaguar
Dealer servicing notes, why is it listed as an S ..... ? once he confirms, then I will have them amend their records
on the car.

As far as I can figure out the main reason for this is that the V6 is always supercharged and in many listings the car is shown as an F-Type V6 S where the S signifies supercharged and not necessarily the S model.
In a similar vein, when I went shopping for an XFS back in 2013 the first one I looked at was privately advertised as an XFS but when I checked it out it was not an S, rather it was a base. When I pointed this out the seller explained that she though the S (for Sport) letter on the rotary gear dial meant it was an S!
Some years ago I went to look at a XJS that was advertised as a V12 and the price was very good. When I got there, is was a 6. The woman that was selling it couldn't understand why it should make a difference.
More recently, I was looking at a Cayman that was listed as having ceramic brakes, but the pictures showed red vs yellow. I asked how much they'd drop the price for regular brakes. Answer: Zero. The seller was a boat dealer and I asked him how he stayed in business if a $18k option wasn't a consideration/

Hi, ... hmmm, well maybe then.... early years the Supercharged V6, vrs. the Turbo 4 Cylinder... strange no matter how I think about a 4 cal... anyway
so... maybe thus the V6 "S" was born..... could be....
Thank you, ADS
