Just placed my order for an F type R coupe. Went with silver with black pack and black tornado wheels. Dealer says I should have delivery mid to end of April.

 

Nice! Did you commit on a price? MSRP or did they give you some wiggle room? Looking to order the R as well but probably not until the end of the year.

Based on my intel, there is approximately 8% profit on these cars (invoice vs msrp). Given that the car is 100-110k with options (excluding the ceramic brake pkg.), I would think a dealer profit of $1k or about a 7% discount would be reasonable. That's my plan when I order. I figure there is huge PR value to the dealer in having me driving around in the car in my hood that is full of maseratis, Porsches and bentleys. We also have a 2013 xj, so I am expecting a larger discount as a repeat customer.

 

A larger discount that you are implying could entice me to trade my hard-riding '12 XJL for a Coupe. When I purchased the XJL there was a $4K customer loyalty discount. I don't see that anymore. Such could be additional enticement.

$1500 in my opinion is no discount at all. The dealers are going to try to get as much as they can and they will get away if nobody deals.

I was told there was at 6000 profit margin. Y gots to deal man.

 

I got my V8S for pretty much invoice plus there was an additional 2.5K Jaguar club rebate for the F-Type. Always a bit harder when a car is brand new, but I'd think there would be more room for negotiation on the purchase.

 

I have heard of the $1000 rebate on the F type but the $2500 rebate seems to
be unknown to this and other forums.

 

The current no-haggle discount using car buying services like USAA and Penfed are at 4% off (around $5,600 off loaded V8S). Truecar is showing about the same with some people getting near invoice. I hope the Coupe sells for as low.

 

There was discussion about it on another thread. It's not unknown. Perhaps you just missed it.

No, I got it in the second week of December. The sales guy brought it up unsolicited, and the rebate was credited as a cash payment over and above the agreed deal price at the time of purchase.

 

All, I just pinged my (most excellent) sales associate and he told me the 2.5K F Type credit is still available.

JCNA only indicates a 1000 rebate.

 

So one could wait until the last second of negotiations, bring up the Jag Club discount and it's applied as a cash payment to the dealer (no reason for them to huff and puff)?

Absolutely. If I'd known about the rebate and it hadn't been mentioned that's exactly what I would have done. In the event my dealer was upfront about it and we still got to the numbers I was looking for regardless so the credit just sweetened the deal. Now - what I don't know if whether the 2.5K is offered across all F-Type models or whether it's perhaps limited to just the V8. It wouldn't be surprising if the higher rebate was limited to just the higher priced variants, but I don't know that for sure.

 

Where do you see this particular incentive listed? I've looked on the factory website and did not see it. Also, anyone know of any customer loyalty discount? When I purchased my XJL it was $4K.
