Default F-Type Maintenance Schedule

I have a 2017 F-Type S with a manual transmission. It has 36,000 on it now and I've had it for just under five years. I have not really look in to what the maintenance schedule is because I've just been bringing it in once a year for the included factory maintenance. Since I'm about to be on my own, I decided to take a look at the schedule in the owner's manual. I was disappointed to find that there isn't one. I've never owned a car before that didn't have some sort of maintenance schedule in the owner's manual. I did a search and found a link to a 2014 maintenance schedule, but there's no mention of changing the differential oil or manual transmission oil. Does anyone know if there's a newer schedule that includes these items?

Go to osh.jaguar.com, type in your VIN and you can select which service you need a schedule for, supposedly tailored to your vehicle.

I have the both the 2014 and 2016 schedules and the 2016 differs from the 2014 in only two ways:
1. The spark plug change interval for the V6S goes from 3 years to 6 years in line with the other engines.
2. The 2016 says "renew transfer case oil every 3 years or 48k miles" while the 2014 says nothing.
But that's all the 2014 0r 2016 say about transmission or diff fluids.
Copy of 2016 schedule attached:

After I type in my VIN, it says "Vehicle not eligible for Online Service History". Oh well. Thanks anyway.

I always wonder what I should do since my car is such low mileage. Original delivery date Sept.'13 and now with 23500 miles. Annual oil changes and one brake flush at 3 years. New water pump 2 years ago and O2 sensors in '14 and '15.

Maintenance schedule is there to a) show lower lifetime fluid consumption, which is counted against the car as emissions b) see the car through the warranty period.

If you only doing yearly oil changes since 2017 you are not doing enough. On my 2016 F-type there isn't any factory fluids, filters, or oils left other than AC compressor oil.

Hi Oz,
I have just come across your maintenance schedule and wondering if it's possible to get the current 2024 version.
Is there a source for this document.

Cheers

I’ve been looking for this as well. Jaguar definitely doesn’t make it easy to find. I’ve been putting it off on account of the car being so new, but yeah, would like to have this document.

I looked around on TOPIx at one point but had no luck.

The 2016 service schedule is the last/latest one I have ever seen on-line, doesn't mean there isn't a later one floating around somewhere though.

Everyone should have the paper ‘Passport to Service’ manual, along with the operator’s manual. The service schedule should be in that. You could post a picture of that.

Yes, but wouldn't that manual omit some procedures that JLR says are 'LIFETIME", like transmission fluid?

Case in point, JLR says no trans fluid replacement is required, ZR Transmissions says 60K miles. Not to mention, the TIME factor.

++++++++++++

Our '14 has hydraulic power steering, I've been considering renewing the fluid by emptying the reservoir, then refilling several times until I've used 2 pints of fluid.. Is the fluid anything 'special'?

EDIT: SEARCH found this:
"Jaguar recommends Mobil ATF320".in the power steering system.

The maintenance schedule is in a separate booklet titled "Passport to Service" that should be in the same binder as the owner's manual.

Trouble is there was no owners manual supplied with the 2024 model----all digital without a service schedule.

In Canada here I definitely got a proper printed owners manual in the glove box, but I don’t recall seeing a service passport thing with that. There was some quick start guide, but that’s it.

Aussie Jaguar were too squibby for that. I resorted to downloading page by page from the web site and printing and constructing an index - still no mention of a service schedule.

Most performance shops will say every 100,000kmish for the transmission service, or sooner if you beat on it hard. Translate that to average driving/yr and that's every 4 years or so...or sooner.

For your interest, I found the official one for my 2024 R today...

1) Go to this URL: https://www.ownerinfo.jaguar.com
2) On that page pump in your VIN
3) From there expand the "PASSPORT TO SERVICE" section
4) From there select "MAINTENANCE AND SERVICE" and it will display

No need for officially logging into TOPIx or anything like that.

Hope this helps...

OF NOTE: I remember people stating on the forum here many times that JLR viewed the oil in the rear diff as lifetime. Based on this clearly that is no longer the case ;-0

Cheers

Note in the service menu I just posted for my car above there that it talks about replacing the transmission fluid.
