Has anyone removed their rear diffuser/valance on their R models?
Mine happened to come as plastic and i want to body colour match it like ive seen come stock on others R's.

PITA to remove or easier than i i think?

Not done it myself and of course I have a V6 not a V8 with a different diffuser/valance but I'm sure I remember reading somewhere on here that it is a piece of cake, just lots of nuts/bolts/screws/clips to be removed which become obvious once you get down under the car and have a good squiz.

Converted the dual pipe valance on my V6 to the R quad pipe valance. Valance removal is a bunch of screws and some snappy tabs. Piece of cake.

Awesome.
Did the sound change for your v6s after the changeover?

Gooday, I followed Unhingd down the path of that conversion, with the VAP valvetronic quad exhaust. Yes the change in sound is fantastic though part of that is also pulley and tune. I'm not sure what it would be like with the stock R exhaust though.

Cheers, well I couldnt get an R in exactly what I wanted which was my car specs (IRR, MY16.5 or 17, Pano roof, same interior) and I was looking at spending $15K plus in stamp duty on a change was well disregarding the changeover price, so I thought I was very frugal and sensible spending that $15K on exhaust, valance, pulley, and tune.

Best of all it had the guarded blessing of my wife.

Besides, the VAP Valvetronic is less expensive that the OEM muffler.

After...8 or so bolts and some clips, super easy !! I jacked up one side so I could slide under and see everything with ease.

It just finishes off the look imo. Well done.
Next question is, did you wrap it or have it painted?
My local guy said a wrap wont stick well to that type of plastic...but im skeptical...
Either way where am i going to get a close to oem stratus grey wrap anyway...

I took it to my body shop and three days later I picked it up painted and ready for installation. I later had it ceramic coated when the car was done. The car is even sexy with no shoe on. Lol

I had a wrap on my V6 valance for close to 3 years before I switched to the V8 valance. Still looks great.

I got a smokin' hot deal from one of our fellow forum members who swapped up to a CF valance.

No, didn't need to. It was already the right color and finish.

I just had mine sprayed by one of the bumper touch up guys. He gave it a few coats and a topcoat, I think it was about $300 which is probably $100 more than it might cost to wrap it but I got the right colour.
