Personally, I would have used a coupe, but I still think this baby looks wicked... Unfortunately, as Jake points out, there are no plans to campaign it, but it's still pretty awesome. Watch the video below to see it in action!

yeah can't imagine why anyone would use a soft top for a rally car

 

It's so that spectators can see the fun the driver and passenger are having!

 

They used a 'vert for this one-off special to be in keeping with the XK120 rally car it is commemorating which was a drop top.

 

Interesting to observe that in the off-the-ground pictures, the FT retains control on the landing. This is due to the temporary halt (considered the word suspension) of the various tech features it has, like ABS, (maybe) AWD, and traction control. These were demanded based upon driving experiences / tests at Nurburgriing, where it was learned that without tweaks under elevation, all sorts of tech haywire would occur. Love the engineering!
