Default F Type Touch Screen Glare

For those convertible folks out there, have any of you solved the glare issue with the F-Type touch screens? With the top down and the sun facing my screen, I might as well not even have one - in that situation the screen is invisible. My wife’s MX5 (Miata) has a Sony head unit that advertised anti glare as a feature and it works! Same scenario with her car and that head unit = no problem. You can see it well in direct sunlight. I searched this topic and found a few people asking over the years, but no real solutions coming up. Some members have suggested anti glare screen film, but as many other members have said those (or at least the ones they tried), do little to help. Members have also suggested the real problem lies with our touch screens not being bright enough. In the case of my wife’s Miata, her screen is definitely brighter. Hoping someone in this group has found some success somewhere with this.

The first thing that came to mind was doing a trial run with a custom fit anti-glare cover similar to something on a mobile tablet or laptop. But, you've mentioned that here. Either way, I would give that a try anyway...just to see if it works for you.

Maybe even try a smaller anti-glare cover on one half of the screen while the other side has no layer. Just to see if there is a difference that works.
