Default F-Type v6 R-Dynamic 380hp RWD

Hello community,
It’s my first post here, and I’m also a kinda new Jaguar enthusiast.
I’m looking to buy a used vehicle
So I was hoping to find some answers and tips for a vehicle I want to buy. Thank you!

My question:
is the engine reliable?
What problem do I have to expect?
Is the price reasonable ?
What after market options are there specifically ?
The car also has the newer faceit lift, infotainment, the newer led lights.
My problem is that I also read in many forums that the newer facelift came in 07/2017 on the market(the one I’m looking to buy came 05/2017) plus the car stickers in front and the back are saying R-Dynamic and not the standard v6s
Need some advice ! Thank you for your help !

Unable to comment on most of this but I think the R-Dynamic has a switch with options of "snow/ice"/"normal"/ "Dynamic" .
It is to the left of the transmission shift. I do not think the V6S has this switch.

On the left if you sit on the left to drive. Mine's on the right of the shifter. And I thought all F-Types have the snow/dynamic switch? AIUI, R-Dynamic is just a (rather confusing) model name.

Good catch, scm!!
I recently rented a car in Turks & Caicos (not a Jag!) with LH driving seat for LH roads - took a bit of getting used to!!

Don't know exactly what answers you're expecting, but considering who you're asking, I doubt you'll get an 'unreliable' response regarding the engine from this forum.

If the one you're looking at has an 'R-Dynamic' nameplate, then it's a MY18, as the 2017 lineup didn't offer that model name. However, both the MY17 "S" and the MY18 "R-Dynamic" RWD's came with the same V6 supercharged engine factory tuned to 380HP (hence the 380 designation). So, you can ignore "S" vs "R-Dynamic".

From the 2017 and 2018 brochures, it looks like both years have pretty much the same front end, with the exception of the headlights. Your description of those confirms that you're looking at a MY18 model. Comparing brochures, it appears that the big front-end changes came with the MY17 and MY21 models.

There is an issue with coolant pipes, as the initial components was made from a molded two-piece design that could develop cracks. I'm not sure when JLR changed these to single-piece components, but that's something to check for on this MY18 model. Many (most?) people on this forum have replaced the two-piece units with one of the aftermarket aluminum ones. You might search the forum for threads on this, as it involves removing the supercharger. There are some very good descriptions about this... including at least one youtube video.

The biggest caveat on this particular vehicle may be the electronics, as Jaguars come with features - such as InControl, infotainment, Roadside Assistance and more - which typically 'expire' at 5 years. This car may have reached that limit. There are several post-warranty workarounds - again search this forum - but in reality most of these don't effect driving the vehicle.

As far as aftermarket, it depends on what you want. Best to Google for options. Or scan this forum to see what others have done. Reasonable price? Seems a bit high compared to KBB. But that's for the US market and, in all fairness, the best answer to that is whatever the buyer is willing to pay.

Good Luck!

Yeah, it'd help if the OP stated his location - it's priced in Euros so presumably a European country and there may be tax regimes of which we know nothing (I believe the Netherlands is particularly punitive for cars).

And if it was built in May 2017 it'd be well into MY18 - mine was a March build.
