Failing daytime running lights....
^^ Boy, that guy is HARSH.
Are working DRLs a mandatory item for a UK inspection (MoT)?
Yes...the "J-lamps" have been reported to be dim or out. . Usually happens with the LH one.
SEARCH will show it. Or Google DRL dim: Jaguarforums and see what comes up.

My 2016 is bright as new and has no issues.
Love the original front of these cars - perhaps the most masterful design in a car of this class I can think of...with the rears it is just perfect.

My wife's 2018 had the issue with the left DRL. It seems to be a pretty common problem with the 2018s with LED headlamps. Fortunately, hers was replaced twice under an extended JLR warranty a few months before the warranty expired. I was told that the initial replacement was defective in that neither headlight beam would raise properly. The 2nd replacement did the trick. We shall see how good the replacement is. Why any manufacturer would make a DRL integral to a headlamp is beyond me. LEDs are supposed to outlast a vehicle. Reality is that LEDs do often fail.
