i noticed on the small front grilles , they have protruding / raised circles ?? do these served any purpose?

 

Those are the two outer parking sensors, the inner two sensors are in the grille cross piece either side of the number plate.

 

Interesting. I don't have any of the vision/proximity options, but I do have those round disks.

 

I think they, for some reason, made those parts commonly PIA (part-in-assembly). That is what I have seen in all ftypes. Maybe im wrong

 

Front parking sensors i presume, some cars haven't front parking aid so wont have them on the cross bar that holes the licence plate. Seems the outer vents
come with the round discs fitted but may not have the sensors added if option wasn't added, should have front parking aid as standard as it comes on the rear of all cars as a non extra option.

 

The sensors are cheap enough (~$9 from the manufacturer) , they may just use them to plug the holes whether the car is vision optioned or not.
