I live in a state that doesn’t require a front plate and want to remove these brackets but not sure how to do it.
Any tips?

 

There is a thread but basically 2 ways.

Best is to cut a slot in the end if the bolt so you can use a screwdriver to undo it.

Alternatively use pliers or other grip to undo the bolt, once it is as far as you can get, it has loosened the clamp at the back enough that you can turn the bracket behind the grill by 90 degrees then pull through. I found that way only just gives you enough slack, hence the screwdriver method is easier
