Default Front Struts - Is this correct?

I had the car on a lift today and snapped these pictures of the front struts on my 2016 F-Type R. I'm noticing the unusual orange material on the left and right side. Does this look correct to you?

I would guess they all have it. That looks like some kind of rubber donut that may be used to insulate the strut from the body to prevent creaking noises. They appear to have left a cutout in the cup to give room for the excess gasket material to spread out of. My 2c. Might be full of it.

Could that be a sheathed cable tied to the control of adaptive dynamics? Add to list of, might be full of it.

It appears to be some insulating/buffer material between the top of the spring and the upper spring seat, which has a cutout left for the excess as Unhingd mentioned. Although it is not directly shown on the exploded diagram, it is clearly visible in on new strut assemblies.

Completely normal. Almost every vehicle on the road today has this kind of rubber spring perch seat to help dampen NVH and BSRs. Most just aren't quite as obvious.

Very much appreciate the diagram and wise thoughts. For some reason, they provide the cutout for the excess, which I am guessing when lowered to the ground, and re-loaded with weight will expanded back. I'll need to take a good look up in there. Thanks, again. Matt
