Default FType V6 S Exhaust "popping" - help please

I just got my car back from dealer after 4 weeks of electrical issues. During the car's stay, the dealer did two service updates. I think the exhaust "popping" has nearly disappeared.

I think I have read here of others with the same problem but I can't find the thread. Hoping someone can point me in the right direction.

Thanks

Mine has had all the updates (according to dealer) and it still pops like a Tommy gun when you keep revv'd 3500+ for a bit, then let off accelerator... bam!

What model year is your car? They had an 02 software update awhile back that caused a reduction in sound level. The update was subsequently revised to correct for that shortcoming.

If they did O2 patch, it will drastically reduce pops on overrun. For my car, at the latest patch level, noise never returned to previous level. If I want to hear any pops, I have to put it into track mode and coast at high RPMs.

When I take it to the track, I may not hear a single pop. Only when I set it up for pops (rapid lift-off into coasting) does it do it.

The O2 update they did on mine was done late in the game after they discovered and addressed the loss of popping issue. Mine pops every bit as much as before, but that might be because of the VAP tune.

I wouldn't let them do the update until the updated update came out. Now just as flatulent as ever.

Here are a couple of threads on the issue

I would have the dealer check to make sure they flashed it with V2 of the O2 software update. You can refer them to the JTB.

I had the o2 update on July 1 and there is no difference in the popping. I was concerned after reading a number of posts when the update first came out, but it appears they did address the issue.
