"Gearbox overheating" warning
So, this is an interesting one... for the first time ever I got a "Gearbox overheating" warning (amber exclamation, not red) on the dash while driving my new 22 R, I never had this in all my time with the 18R
I was doing a fast run in the canyons in dynamic mode with gearbox in dynamic mode - I wasn't changing gears excessively but was certainly driving fast. It was late out (after dark) and I would estimate the air temperatures around 60F. The car still performed perfectly fine, as soon as I got the warning I backed off, changed up to 7th and just ran with very low revs and very little throttle at around 50mph to keep cool air coming in, warning disappeared after about 30 seconds and never came back so went back to faster driving and all was good
I know JLR re-calibrated the gearbox on the 20+ facelift, it's a lot more brutal (but fun) now in dynamic mode - are they pushing the 8HP too hard? I wouldn't have thought so since it sees higher power applications. Should I just leave the gearbox in "comfort" mode even when in dynamic mode overall? Or is there potentially an issue? Anyone else experienced this?

Max torque on a zf8hp70 is something like 516 ft lbs or the like...the number the R puts out stock. There are different versions of the zf8...some with higher and others with lower torque capacity.
Not sure why you had a warning...if you are tuned...... It is nice to know that it is being monitored. I wonder if it has always been monitored...are we all protected?

700Nm in metric, which is where the 70 comes from. Which is the 575 engine power, the "old" 550 R is 680Nm.
