Default Glacier White vs. Polaris White for the F-Type

We all know color is subjective and and an individual preference, but I wanted to get some thoughts on which color (Glacier White or Polaris White) you'd prefer on an F-Type. I'm having a hard time deciding between these two colors (a nice problem to have).

I have no love for glacier. It has a grey/blue hue to it. Polaris is a nice pure white, while Glacier looks like something they landed on while trying to get to white.

I was initially torn between them too. Do you have an opportunity to see them side by side? When I did the Polaris won out for me. I didn't like the grey/blue hue of the Glacier white and I felt like the Polaris is more eye catching.

Both great colors though. As you note, you have a very fun problem.

I have Polaris and saw it next to a Glacier in the dealership under identical lights. Polaris just "popped" in comparison. Ultimately it all in perception but lm a big fan of Polaris.

Polaris hands down. Glacier is a pearl white, which I don't personally like. But a lot do. So you have to decide.

I love the idea of the ice blue type white... But never seen pictures of it in realistic lighting. If anyone has one, I'd love to actually see some photos. We seem to have a LOT of Polaris photos floating around.

Glacier is more noticeable. Polaris is just white. Looks like any other white. Glacier, while not as flashy as ANY of the other marques pearl-whites, particularly BMW's 5 color awesome paint, still tends to stand out more.
"In the wild" but I'm not photographer and for whatever reason, this is about the grainiest pic I've taken with my phone ever... Second one's better but doesn't show the pearl as well.

And quite frankly, I don't know where people are getting this 'bluish' thing from. I'd actually prefer if it were more color tinted, but it's not. It's pretty much white on rice. If anything it leans toward eggshell.

This from further out. Nestled between white white and obviously the Cobra's blue. Coworkers think the color makes it look more exotic with the white pearl? As an example of what outsiders think.

As others said, you need to put them side by side. I did and chose Glacier. Glacier is metallic and, if I recall correctly, Polaris is not. My personal preference is always toward metallic.

But I'm going to offer a thought that may just steer you away from white altogether:

- we only see our girls with her spoiler down
- pop the spoiler up and note that everything under there is black
- ponder the appearance when you're flashing your tail at someone in your dust; I'm already pondering if there's a way to white out my hardware beneath the spoiler for aesthetics.

An alternative thought for your consideration.

Glacier looks like dirty white to me and reminds me of a primer...and not in a good way.

Whatever though...it only matter to the OP which one he prefers but after seeing Glacier in person, it did nothing for me personally.

Here is a side by side shot at noon in direct sun. Glacier on the left. Polaris on the right.

I certainly hope so as this thread is almost 4 years old. Speaking of which, in 3 days I will have had my car for exactly 5 years!

Love the way my Polaris white looks right up until I park next to a Glacier white. Especially when you have the contrast black wheels.

Definitely something I will consider next time around. Updated paint color now is Yuloong

I just switched from Fuji (which was Polaris) to Glacier (now known as Yulong). In my experience, Fuji is always white. It's a very nice white, but it's whiter than BMW's alpine white, which is saying a lot.

Fuji white

Fuji vs Alpine

Glacier is a metallic color, so it has more depth and changes a lot depending on the light. I wouldn't call it pearl. In bright light it's pretty much white. But in dim light it changes and becomes more silvery-gray. I know that in BMWs that metallic colors get more coats of clear coat and are more durable. My Fuji was very prone to swirls, whereas this Glacier seems better (so far, anyway).

Default Yulong repaintable on damaged areas?

Mark -

Great pics! Really shows the difference well.

I'm looking at a 2018 Yulong F-type, but I see on the Carfax it's been in a minor accident and probably had some repaint done. The car is remote and I won't be able to see it before I need to commit. I'm concerned that the more "exotic" multi-layer paints like Yulong white may not be as easy to match or touchup as a more "basic" Fuji white.
Any auto painters or experienced owners with thoughts on how easily this paint could be repaired? Would it ever match the original factory multistep paint job?

Thanks.
