Is This A Good Deal?
Hey all,
I'm looking into purchasing a new 17 ftype r and have currently negotiated 7% and 2k from chase finance. Msrp is a bit over 108k. As someone who has looked at these forums for a while I keep thinking I can do better based on some of the posts I've seen here. My question is am I getting a good deal or should I continue negotiating? In addition, is it worth waiting for the 18 model?
Thank you!

Matched the car with the dealer. The car is located 300 miles away. Don't think its going to be easy. I think 10% + Chase 2k offer is fair along with flat bedding costs on them.

I would be aiming for more than 10% off. You would be leaving a lot of money on the table. Try contacting the selling dealer directly rather than using your local one?

If you are a member of the Jaguar Clubs of North America (JCNA) you have an additional discount after you have worked your deal. If not you are leaving $2500 on the table on 16/17 F-Types --all models except SVR.

I am not a member but I'd certainly join for the discount. Is it a long process?

20% would be amazing. I guess I'll be calling a few more dealers tomorrow. The way the NJ dealers were negotiating 7% was a pain to get...

If you go to a local club (recommended) it could take a week or two-depending on the club and its membership chair or you could sign up now as a MAL (member at large) which should take a few days to get your number and a week or two to get your card but the number is what you need.

It's a 6 month wait with membership for discount last I knew. I would wait to get 20% on a 17 when 18s hit. Also look for a new car with the warranty started (dealers) can buy car from JLR and get a large discount. You can do a lot with extra cash. If you wait six months you can accomplish both club discount and buy a 17. There some unsold 16s out there too. I shopped up to 1500 miles out. Shipping was $600-800.
Here is a '16 IRR, appears new. One of two Rs at this dealer. Would need to verify, but would think some closer to you. Depends on what your looking for. An xtra 10% can really square your R up, with custom wheels, tune, pulley.

Has anyone had any experience with dealers bringing in cars from other dealers? I am within driving distance of 3-5 dealers but considered trying to get a nearby dealer to locate a specifically optioned car at another dealer. Will they do that? Thought it might make required service more friendly??

A dealer can bring in a car from elsewhere, but they have to pay shipping... The best deal is usually for a car they have on their lot.
