Yeah, the thread is about the VAP shifter, hence my comment that you can get them from DAE.
I think DAE is the UK VAP agent.

Does anyone know where I find one of these short shifter kits? I have called VAP and they dont have them and have no plans to get them unless a group order of 25 is placed (makes sense) . I have reached out to some third party vendors, no luck. I would really like to clean up the Shift on my F-type. Any lines on where I can purchase this part is appreciated.

@Unhingd - Do you have a hook up for this part?

I'm sure Unhingd will be along soon, but I understand he's working on a new version which requires you to supply the OEM shifter fot him to modify (unless he has some donor units available already).

 

I have two donor units that are currently out (post-modification) to two fellow enthusiasts for installation. I will be getting OEM shifters back as soon as each of the installations are done and can turn them around within 10 days from the machinist. The first of the modified shifters is already in use (3 produced so far) and appears to work every bit as well as the 4H-Tech produced shifters. I have noticed that there is a demand for 5-10 of the short-shifters annually. That worked when 4H was willing to build batches of ten. But a batch of 25 could require a 3-5 year waitlist. The billet aluminum 4-H shifter certainly looked a lot sexier, but it's hidden down in the transmission tunnel , never to be seen.
A shout-out to anyone with the V1.0 short shifter (Unhingd/VAP/4H), if you still have your OEM shifter and willing to donate it to the cause, please let me know. (There's at least 20 of you out there).
Maybe I can convince Stuart to take on the shifter conversion process.

Unfortunately, I do no have a donor.The billet aluminum is a sexy part, but I more concerned with functionality. Please let me know when the next parts become available, I am interested.

I am one happy and satisfied customer of the unhinged Short Shifter for my F-type. The install was not bad at all, I loosened the heat shield and had direct access to the lower bolt. It was great working with Unhinged, he is a great representative for this community. If you have a manual, pull the trigger and install this piece. It will greatly improve your experience with the car. Quality piece all the way.
