Default GT3/Project 7 "Style" Parts

As some of you already know I started a build thread for my 2017 F-Type Base V6 and one of the major projects is adding a front lip, side splitters, rear diffuser and a fixed wing. Since we don't have many options other than Piecha, SVR, and Project 7 (which both require a VIN), I figured it's time to gauge interest from other members who want to have similar parts made. If there is enough interest, I might be able to have an aftermarket company make these pieces in bulk to sell to the public. Being in southern CA and extremely involved with the car community for a few years now, I have access to a lot of local companies and have already started talking with a few. The next step is coming up with a "universal" design that will fit as many F-Type models as possible so that we can keep the cost down. It will most likely be made in carbon fiber but I'm not opposed to other material as long as it's durable and has good fitment. I am in no way affiliated with any aftermarket company. I am just a regular car guy looking to expand our F-Type community!

It would be something similar to these:

GT3 Concept:

Project 7:

I also want to include that the rear diffuser will be to sport the V8 style quad exhaust. So those of you with V6 models that are looking to run the rear diffuser would need to swap out your rear valance for the V8 rear valance first. I am planning on having a custom quad exhaust made for my car anyways.

Correct me if I'm wrong (Unhingd and a few of you other F-Type veterans out there) but the front bumper and side skirts are the same on all F-Type models.. minus the added sills which can be removed if needed?

Aerodynamically, these cars need vertical side skirts, not horizontal porch steps.

Agreed. I think the side splitters should be about half as wide as the GT3 concept. Again, these pictures are just there to start putting together a design!

PORCH STEPS ... LMAO !!!
After reading several of UNHINGED replies, I'm convinced he does part time stand up comedy at his local comedy club lounge.

Humor is the way I keep myself entertained. If I can offer comic relief to others in the process... Ummm, where was I going with this?

This might be a cheaper alternative to start. They have rear diffusers for both exhausts:

Yeah I looked at their pieces but I'm not a fan of the diffuser design. Also, since I am looking to have the front lip and sides made, I want all of them to match with an OEM+ look. Another issue is the price and as well as the additional shipping to the US. The company I am talking to now is So Cal based and is guestimating around $2500-$3500 for the complete kit.

Having had the pleasure of Unhingds presence for several days I agree. In fact I put him right up there with one of the comedic greats!

It could have been worse. Much worse.

I'd be completely shocked if you got the complete kit for that cost. Judging by FrickenJag's excellent work in carbon fiber for our cars, you won't get such significant pieces for that cheap unless they are poor quality. Not to burst your bubble, but i just don't want people getting their hopes up.

That being said, I don't know why you're not a fan of the diffuser design, its basically an Project7 knockoff.

I came across this pic of a 400 Sport AWD at an English dealership, it appears to be a JLR corporate car.
It has a rear spoiler I have never seen before, and I suspect it is an option on the 400 Sport. So another "bolt on" F-Type rear spoiler design.

Default Piecha spoiler looks so much better

This spoiler is contoured to the shape of the rear end. The Jag spoiler is basically a generic looking straight piece of material. For a factory item, looks like an afterthought .
Also, Piecha offers side skirts and front splitters for older F Types a that didn't come with these parts.

Been around since 16MY I believe, but its just not very popular for obvious reasons.

Thanks for the link, I hadn't seen that before. Does anyone know if there are any significant weight savings on that hood?

There would not be. Aluminum to Carbon Fiber is minimal. Not like steel to carbon fiber.

Woops, I didn't see the V8 diffuser on there at first! Just the V6 one but I see it now.

Welp, doesn't look like there's enough interest. Looks like I'm doing a one off setup!

Default I'd like one part for my car

The SVR has an air dam located at the front t lower section of the bumper made of CF. But ... I don't want it made of CF, as its a waist of money. Plastic resin fiber glass type material is fine.

Oops! I missed this Thread. Wondering if your post raised enough interest to move forward with the F-Type side skirts, front lips, and rear diffuser. I also own a 2017 F-Type Coupe Premium and currently looking for different aerodynamic packages options besides the currently offered. Incidentally, I drove out to Piecha and viewed their works, but it differs to far from the OEM.
Let me know if you plan to move forward. BTW, plastic resin fiber glass type material are also fine with me since I intend to hydrodip the parts.
