Default Hesitation on acceleration: Transmission overheating?

Went To cars and coffee yesterday and after leaving with some other sports cars, well, I used the paddle shifters until almost redline for a few spirited jaunts from the stop lights. Open roads and no traffic so was able to rev high for extended periods. After a few miles, I noticed the car bogging down and hesitating when I accelerated. No warning indicators, no overheating signs, just sluggishness and hesitation. Felt like when you have a bad spark plug and it was misfiring. I was able to drive but not able to really push acceleration past a slow roll. I pulled over at McDonald’s and ate breakfast. Started up and it was fine. So, seems to me it was heat induced on the DCT tranny. No leaks, nada. Now I am apprehensive about driving…when i go over roads and start feeling some feedback, I feel like to could be the transmission still, or something else, but in reality it is just in my mind.
this is the diagram of what I think is our transmission https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/a...peed_trans.pdf

Anyone ever experience similar issues and after a cooling off, drove just fine. I may have reached the limit of spirited driving with this car. Thanks.

Folks tracking the V8 with e-diff reported it overheated easily, though I’d think it would give a warning on the dash. Don’t know if the current e-diff is improved.

Well you started it this morning and it was a rough idle. Sort of like bad timing or similar to when you use bad gas. Hmmm, may have to take it to dealer to evaluate further.

- ZF 8HP70 isn't a DCT
- Depending on how hot you got the engine and ambient temperature, its possible that the engine pulled timing so you weren't making full power until temperatures dropped.
