Default How long does your dealer take for annual service ?

Wanted to run a quick poll and see the average separation time during a routine annual service - once again I am bemused at the logistics that I have never run into with other brand shops.

Booked the car in for 32K/2 year routine service three weeks in advance.

Dropped the car off at 9am Thursday and picked up loaner. No outstanding campaigns.
Car sat untouched for two days according to Jaguar Remote.
Hood was opened on Saturday.
Called Service Advisor today to check - "not likely to be finished today, hopefully by late tomorrow"

Really ? 4 business (maybe 5) days for oil and filter and multipoint check...

If they were swamped or a virulent flu epidemic hit them, why don't they just ask me to come back next week ?

Should I take this up with the Service Manager ?

I voted same day, but just to put it in some context, I usually have to schedule the appointment a couple of weeks in advance; usually in the 2-3 weeks range. I don't know if that is common or not.

I just scheduled my 4th year annual service. Because I requested a loaner, it's 4 weeks out! Seems excessive, but doesn't really matter. This will be one week before my warranty expires...

Looks like changing the air filters is the only extra thing for the 4 yr/64,000 mile service.

I waited for my 1 year service. Took about 3 hours. Most of that was them testing the car to try to duplicate the difficulty that I have engaging cruise.

Default Need another categoty

Mine was overnight, but that is not the whole story. I had a warranty item and they wanted to keep the car overnight to be sure. A loaner was arranged in advance.

So yes, I understand the lead time of two to three weeks, which is fine. What I cannot believe is my dealer is going to be four working days on the service (maybe five if you count Saturday) and the first two of which my car just sat in their parking lot it would appear. As I said, my campaigns are up to date and I had no additional items to add apart from "do not wash me". Sounds like my dealer isn't the norm (apart from the booking ahead time)

+1. That is not proper. I can understand a lengthy backlog for a reservation if it's for a non-critical issue such as a scheduled service. But holding the car overnite for a regular service is ridiculous unless some emergency came up for the designated technician. My last service was 3 hours and my SA expects the next one in June will be 3 hours as well.

Usually 1-2 weeks to schedule, overnight stay at most. I get a loaner delivered to my location and my car picked up. My dealer is 90 minutes away. They call ahead when driver is leaving to deliver or pick up. Couldn't be more convenient. No complaints.

I do them all as a waiter as long as I'm not doing the damn air filters that just about require removing the entire nose and under trays and wheel arch liners. Come on Jaguar that was stupid

My servicing is free during the warranty period and I get a free loaner too, though I have to book about 3 weeks out. It takes less than a day. But then they gave me an evoque as a loaner -__-

For my 1 year service I made the appointment a week out. The earliest the service dept. schedules appointments is 0900. I am 2 hours away from the dealership. I arrived at 0830 and they took the car in immediately and asked if I need a loaner for the morning. I declined as I really didn't have anywhere to go. I had my car back by 1030 and was home for lunch.

Had 3 annual services now - including a couple that had campaign work eg K309. Always had the car back same day, usually early afternoon.

OK, I rationalised my problem.

They had my car for two days and did nothing to it WHEN I COULD HAVE BEEN DRIVING IT....

1 week to schedule, 2 hrs for the service. Its been the standard for me. And I've heard the service guy say their place is small, so a bigger place with more workers should be quicker....you would think.

I asked my dealer to change intake filters last service, and found out that this was the case. They didn't mention it to me beforehand, or I would have said never mind.

All my maintenance service visits were same day. Warranty clutch work was 3 days and they apologized for the time it took as they had to order additional fasteners.
