That isn't even close, for mine. VIN pos 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and possible others are all drastically different.

My '16 AWD is SAJWJ which, according to that document, isn't even an F-Type as the 4th letter is not a D.

And my 5th letter is a C so again not a "real" F-Type!

SSD thinks mine is LHD? I've been sitting in the wrong seat all this time!

FWIW, that’s a MY18 doc.

Default AWD

Except for the badge on the trunk, there is no way to distinguish the AWD. I have driven it in the snow twice and you can certainly feel the difference from a rear wheel drive.

Default AWD Badging

Every AWD F-Type I've seen has the AWD on the right rear of the car with either the "S" or "R".

The hood vents are different. Perhaps read the thread.

My MY18 doesn't have an AWD badge. And it's an early one - built 25 March 2017.

Inspection also gives a clue - the driveshaft for the front wheels as I recall comes forward from the left rear of the transmission, then goes through the oil pan to the right side (as I recall). Hard to miss the shafts

My 2016 was built on April 13 of 2015.

My memory has a 1-2 times margin for error.

But still easier to look at the hood vents ...

I would just look to see if it has a front differential and halfshafts going to the front wheels.

Nice topic. It seems shocking but all you need to do is.... turning your wheels max to one side and look for the drive shaft.... Old school method. Is it not... ;D Still easier than identification of iPhone model.
We went so far with technology that we've missed the basics.
