According to JLR ordering guides, this has to be Caldera Red not Salsa. The former replaced the latter in 2016 and continues into 17.

My dealer has 3 Caldera red cars, 2 convertibles (16 & 17) and 1 2016 coupe. The two colors are very similar, but Caldera has a shade more blue in it.

 

I think Foosh is right. Would be interesting to hear what your sticker says.

 

Kief, - Most likely as a spectator because don't think its worthy of showing as is. Once I have the radar, stereo install and wheels installed next month then It will be on decent enough to show. LOL

ioneabee - Agree. I originally went looking for white with all black packages, but when the dealership offers you $15,000 of MSRP for car on their lot I said WTF and went with it. It's not that bad of a color.

99Gsp - Hope so too. Where you drive in NJ? I'm Morris, Passaic and Bergen County primarily.

Philly - sounds good. If I don't make it to Hershey will see about the Stacks since it's about 50 miles closer for me =)

Foosh - Are you saying mine is Caldera red? The paperwork says salsa. I rather have the IRR, but whatever had to suck it up and go with this color whatever color that is. =)

 

I'm in Hunterdon County. I know of one other here in Hunterdon that I crossed paths with.

I may go to Steel stacks on Sunday.

 

According to JLR, Salsa Red was discontinued after the 15MY and replaced w/ Caldera Red. However, another PA owner (Imnotfamousanymore) has an early 2016 build that is also Salsa.

Sometimes, there's overlap between model years on things like paint colors. What's the build date on the driver's side B pillar sticker?

 

When I ordered my 2016, in May 2015, both Salsa and Caldera were available, according to the dealer and the configurator. I didn't try for one of those, got the IRR, so I can't say for sure that I could have had ordered Salsa or not. Doesn't the door plate indicate a paint color? And, why not believe the paperwork.

 

The window sticker will state the color.

Or look at the paint code on the door sill sticker.

Caldera Red - Code 1BD

Salsa Red - Codes CHA (2014-2015) / Code 1BA (2016) Salsa Red was available on early '16 models.
