It's not clear to me if 10" F-Types have WiFi connect, like say Jaguar XE does: https://youtu.be/JDMcjhRHDEE?si=eJ1aPn-VGGbM_MsN&t=123
I have the 10inch like in this picture...

Personally, I don’t want my car to have the ability to be connected to wirelessly. If it can connect if be connected to over a public network, it can be hacked. Even VPNs can be hacked. No thanks.

I don't have ICTP on the F-Type, but I do on the F-Pace. You can turn on Wifi and connect to your house or you phone as a hotspot. You can find the software level by click on the Settings icon (gear), then All Settings to find the software version.

Default Final settlement, etc.

The court ratified the settlement on Oct.10, 2024, though it's still subject to potential appeal.

Here's a link to PDFs of all pertinent documents regarding this case, which eventually should provide fixes/updates and extend warranties for them. NOTE that in the "Menu" there's a link "Important Documents" and a VIN lookup to confirm your car's eligibility for these significant benefits.

Read through the settlement, I guess the 1 year warranty extension on the infotainment is nice, but it seems kind of silly that OTA updates will be enabled, but there's no requirement or expectation that they will actually make any infotainment updates.

Would have been a nice bone if older cars could have gotten AA/Carplay or something :/

If you have the 10" screen it's possible. MY18 with 10" screen was the starting point for AA/CP support.

I suspect that JLR, anticipating its pending obligations under the settlement, became proactive and already made some OTA fixes at its end, for covered vehicles able to receive them, so their owners might opt to ignore upcoming service notices. After JLR agreed to settle but before court approval, I think my covered 2020 F-Type (built April 2019) got an OTA update that I'd not previously been able to get. Monthly map updates via USB have always worked and my ICTP system, including Bluetooth connectivity, has never malfunctioned, so I'm inclined to leave well enough alone and avoid in-shop downtime and the risk a dealership's technicians might just screw something up.

Make sense?

(Of course, to receive the warranty extension, I guess you'd have to take the car in, per the upcoming notice.)

Would love to do this, and have looked into it in the past, but I can't seem to find anyone who has done the CCF updating on their own successfully - maybe I should ask some indie's around me whether they could help with that part.

Have you been able to do the update to the 10", by any chance?

My dealer installed the CarPlay/AA update to the 10” ICTP system in my XE. They elected not to charge me for it. This was probably in 2019.

Well, I guess I can sleep better tonight, knowing that the warranty on my ICTP ran out 2 years ago, instead of 3.
And, I can get a year's free updates on an infotainment system that's obsolete, hasn't been updated in 2 years, on a car that's out of production.
And, they're going to do more training at my dealer that isn't a dealer anymore.
And, there's not even a refund for the cost to activate CarPlay as a workaround. (My dealer DID charge, unlike some).

PS, for those that thought they'd get map updates - that's not a warranty item, so I think you're out of luck.

I don't want the 10" screen because I like the physical buttons. I think others have, there may be threads here about it.

To clarify for you, the warranty extension will be on the repair/upgrade work that's still pending, not on your original (expired) warranty. If your car is covered under the settlement, you'll be entitled to ICTP fixes that will be warrantied after that work is done.

I agree with that, having both in the different cars. While my wife quite likes 10 inches in hers, I find the bigger one is a bit of a PITA flipping between screens and scrolling, so I think my more modestly sized one is more than adequate, and much easier to find things on. But then that's probably why I also have a portrait monitor as well as the landscape.

That said, purely on aesthetics it is pretty hard to beat 10 inches.

I’m not going to touch that one with… anything.
