Default Informative video on EV plans

Living in America I got a very good perspective on the European car market from Harry..
He does discuss Jaguar.

He's correct about Jaguar.
(He has a project 7, a project 8, and an xj-12c....).

Watched this yesterday and it gave me renewed hope that JLR will make a U turn and shelf the all-electric plans for Jaguar. Everyone else in the Western car industry has backed down, Porsche is investing 800 million to further develop internal combustion, EU is backing Technology Neutrality which will extend ICE sales beyond 2035... As minimum, Jaguar could return with a line of plug in hybrids.

As Harry said in the video, trying to sell a premium EV is a non starter.

I hope you're right, but I think it's too late. They've already dismantled production lines and tooling - after cutting off development before that. At this point, we'd be looking at another gap year just to get back to square one. It's a much easier adjustment for other manufacturers who didn't pull the plug on ICE (sorry for the pun). The only possible candidate would be the F-Pace, since it has the volume and margins to run.

They could just take what they have and go PHEV with them....they picked the right transmissions to use:

(think cx16...if we could only have lighter batteries.....that is the key)

I think going PHEV is a compromise. They got to do something though otherwise their EV launch will be like arriving to a party that has been raided by the cops and you don't like what you see floating in the pool...

They should offer Aston's CEO a job!
