Default Infortainment system on the 2018MY

Hi guys, prospective F-Type owner checking in. I have been lurking on these forums for a few months but I now have a question for you.

Has anyone been able to find any concrete information on the infotainment system on the 2018s? Jaguar says it's upgraded to the InControl Touch Pro (their official 2018MY page is here: 2018 New Jaguar F-TYPE - Coupe & Convertible | Jaguar USA) but visually it still looks a lot like the non-pro InControl . I realize that they can't fit the 10 inch screen from the XF, F-Pace etc. but this one still seems like it may be a hybrid of the InControl and Touch Pro at best.

Is the idea that we get all the features of the Touch Pro in the smaller package with dedicated hardware buttons on the sides? Will it use that "quad-core Intel processor" now? Will it have pinch and zoom etc? What is truly changing from the current system to the new one? If you're able to find any specific details, please post them here.

Thank you!

I just had a brand new XF as a loaner. The UI in that new XF looks identical to the one show in the page you linked to. It's a far improved system as far as UX goes, but seemed functionally very similar to what we have now. It's just so darn snappy!

Separately: No more flat-bottomed steering wheel?

Right, the UX is different is the only thing I can find, I'm hoping to nail down some of the specific changes if possible. Btw - if you look on this page describing the difference between InControl and Incontrol Touch Pro (Jaguar Infotainment | Jaguar USA), the picture on the 18MY actually looks like the InControl, not the Touch Pro

Also - the flat bottomed steering really gone? That would be a shame..

In the new (UK) brochure you find the flat bottomed steering wheel as a part of the interior black pack. I don't know if it might be ordered separately or as part of other packs, but at least it does not seem to be totally gone.

2018MY will see the launch of TouchPro. Its powered by a quad core processor and a 60gb SSD drive.

Cheers. Are there perhaps any detailed specifications listed somewhere that you were able to find?
