Default Intelligent stop/start

I've owned my car for a little over a month now and only noticed twice that the car turned itself off at a red light. I have eco mode in my BMW too and it turns off /on all the time if eco mode is selected. Is the Jag really this finicky? I wasn't using a/c, wasn't in dynamic mode, didn't use the paddle shifters. Why is the Jag not turning off/on automatically when in eco mode?

Hi. I switch mine off but on the occasions that I forget to it pretty much always shuts the car off at lights unless I'm creeping forward or if the car is still cold. And that is with the air conditioning on. Maybe yours thinks the battery needs more charge?

If you don't push the brake pedal down firmly enough, ECO may not kick in. If you do push hard enough for the engine to shut off, you can get it to restart by decreasing the brake pedal pressure, but without actually moving. Handy trick.

Indeed, a handy trick and that makes auto S/S really intelligent - connecting the driver's brain to the S/S control.

Against everyones advice finally got start stop fixed. Needed new dedicated battery,'14, also they found excuse to replace the main battery. Good for me.

I have a service appointment scheduled for the end of the month. Let's see what the dealer finds.
