Is Jaguar Taking a Cat Nap?
Interesting read. Worth noting though that when the E-Type was first sold it was about 65% the price of the equivalent Aston Martin, so Jags have always traditionally been more bang for the buck. Seems they're now going for more bucks for the (now silent) bang. Hope it works out for them, but they'll be out of my price range. Not that I want a modern car with all the regulatory inhibitors that have to be disabled every time you switch the damn things on - my "old" F-Type is a keeper.
Sadly, including Jaguar's management, it seems. If only Bill Lyons was still around ..... Though it's probably good that he isn't - he'd be very disappointed at what his "baby" has become.
Regrettably (only because I wish it were not so) I’d have to agree with our friend across the pond. It’s a longer story (which I seem to recall my posting on this forum almost 10 years ago) but from my first interaction with management—again, 10 years ago—at the unveiling of the F-Type at a Madison Avenue Sports Car Driving & Chowder Society https://www.mascdcs.org/ meeting in NYC I was less than impressed with the company in regards to, let’s just call it, the customer experience*.
As I said, I wish it weren’t so.
*Certainly as opposed to, say, Honda/Acura. Ask me how I know.
