Default JLR Eyeing Silverstone, a return to F1?

Report: Jaguar Land Rover Wants to Buy Silverstone Circuit

Maybe JLR moved away from the GT series because it plans to return to Formula 1 instead. Interesting news.

Ugh, I hate what F1 has become. Itīs about as exciting as watching paint dry. Now a Le Mans GT type campaign would get me excited.

JLR can't afford to have an F1 team. It would cost half a billion dollars a year to win in F1.

They just want to have their name on the track. They actually are a heavy advertiser in F1. See a lot of Jag ads during most Grand Prix, and they often sponsor the coverage too in the US.

completely agree F1 has become boring and they need to reintroduce fuel stops, go with a new design (aka: the new McLaren concept) and get passing possible again. A LeMan GT effort would be a great idea and would be in keeping with a rich heritage. Sign me up for those T-shirts.

Default Not F1 - Formula E

OK, So the Silverstone Purchase was with an eye toward a return to open wheel racing, just not F1. Jaguar to enter Formula E in 2016

Anyone else see the 60 Minutes piece this last weekend featuring Lewis Hamilton? A bit of a fluff piece but my wife certainly enjoyed it [as did I] and he certainly comes off as a great guy (other than his, obviously, inherent competitive nature). I also LOVED when he appeared on Top Gear and sampled [drove] some of Ayrton Senna's past rides. Very moving in more ways than one.
