I recently bought a 2014 V6S, and I am trying to figure out if I can change a setting to make the power outlets (cigarette lighter, usb port) to stay on while the car is parked. In my other car, they stay on and I can use it to charge a spare cell phone battery while I'm away. I've never had a problem with it draining the battery. It's kind of a minor thing, but it is pretty annoying to me.

Don't think you can change the behavior. They shut off after 10 minutes, I believe.

 

As an alternative - In my XF I had an additional socket added in the luggage compartment, with a fused line direct to the battery. Any competent auto electrician should be able to do this for you.
