Default Keep or Sell + Maintenance

I have a 2015 F-Type Base, but a beautiful spec (full red leather, black package, upgraded wheels, pano roof, sport steering wheel (heated), sport seats) - and I'm coming up on 73,000 miles. It's actually been pretty reliable (I'm used to Audis so this car has been reliable in comparison) - I've done all the coolant pipes, water pump, injectors, supercharger snub - the usual suspects. I'm wondering if I'm gonna run into suspension or other big repairs in the next 15-20,000 miles, or I can safely continue enjoying the car.

I also have an FJ Cruiser and I was thinking about selling the F-Type and FJ Cruiser and putting it all towards a new Lexus GX550 Overland+ - but I would hate to not have a sports car. It still gets tons of looks and compliments (I've blacked out the roof pillars and mirrors) - but I don't want say a 5-8K bill for control arms, or something more catastrophic.

I was thinking, if I do keep it, next service - should I add in a transmission fluid / filter and rear diff (it's the open diff) fluid flush to that, and sort of call it ready to go?

I think ZF suggests 60,000 miles for a fluid change. Don't know about the open diff.

If you can make the numbers work, I’d trade both in for an F Pace SVR, a 2019 or 2020, before they got civilized with the “gentleman mode”.

I go off road + overland camping quite a bit, and that wouldn't work for me. Love the car though!

I’m at 83,000 miles. Did plugs a little while ago and it got a pinion seal before the 60,000 mile warranty was up. I plane to drop and fill tranny and diff at 100,000.

I'm mostly in your camp, but I might suggest doing the plugs sooner vs later. If the car is running well, I'm sure they're firing fine. But, you're not that far from the recommended cycle, and they can be a real bitch to extract if corrosion starts taking hold. (A bit of a PIA, regardless.)

Or if the Defender is out of your budget, you could go for the Little D https://easycars.jp/product/damd-bod...-suzuki-jimny/

Saw one in Japan, it looked absolutely fantastic

No is no such thing as "forever parts". At some point, all cars need suspension replacements, etc.. I'm not sure we have enough data points around F-Types to know when that happens since most F-Types are not daily drivers. I guess my point is that I wouldn't worry about "what could happen" from a wear and tear perspective. All cars have wear and tear.
