Just bought a stunning 10000 mile F Type V8 S convertible 2014. Can you trickle charge the battery by plugging in an Optimate 3 charger into the cigaret lighter plug?

I think the lighter socket disconnects when the ignition's off, so the answer would be no. Best to check with a meter to confirm.

Also, I'd suggest a better subject than your name, so people will know what the post is about.

On our '14 both 'power points' (aka cigarette lighters) are OFF when the car is asleep.

There are Topics here regards where to connect battery maintainers/chargers in the trunk.
