Lease transfer: Up in the air, til i get complete verification tomorrow.
Currently, it's for sale at 90k with 1k miles. If not, I'll just get the GT3 anyway.
I just found a GT3 for a deal too good to pass up hence the sale.
Car is less than a month old.. 1000 miles currently.
I hate to do this, I love the car but the boy-racer in me + a dream of owning a GT3 is about to become reality so here goes.
2016 F-Type R. Glacier white. Black pack. Vision Pack. Illuminated foot sills. White ivory stitching. Perfect condition (bought brand new a few weeks ago)
$109,000 MSRP. Zero money down.
Payment is $998 a month. 36 months/10k miles. Car is located in Oregon.
It's a steal. You're responsible for shipping/getting the car/transfer fee (no more than 500 like BMW I'm sure)
Payoff: $90,500 currently (that's how good of a deal I got)
Payoff after 36 months: Have to check. Not home.

You are not considering depreciation. Moment you drove the car off the lot, it is no longer new and no longer would be worth new car price that you are asking. Consequently, you will have to pay someone to take over your 'zero down' lease because you are upside-down on it right now, and you will also have to cover lease transfer fee. Additionally, your lease may have restrictions on out-of-state transfer, so check that before offering it out of state.

First of all, for a lease this good. The people who want the lease of $998 can pay the transfer fee. Or they can go hunting and try to nab one this good, and maybe get $1150 instead, let alone like $1250.. multiplied 36 months = $5400 more for the same car.
Secondly; as a guy who has done 20+ leases from all brands including Ferrari, Porsche, all the way to Kias.. I feel more than qualified enough to tell you that I listed the MSRP, so they know what they are getting for $998 a month. Not some $60k base model and paying $998 a month.
Thirdly; please take a moment to read what I'm offering. It's a LEASE TRANSFER. Not outright selling, I'm letting them know what they would be assuming pay-off wise if they wanted to offload sometime down the road.
I got 20k off sticker. That means when they decide to maybe purchase the car 36 months from now, they would start at 90k.. not 110k.
Fourthly; You do realize that I'm NOT upside down. I can easily put it on swapalease.com for 100 bucks and get rid of it within a few weeks. You do know how leases work right? Doesn't seem like it.

Let me know if you have luck transferring your lease. I called Chase and they said they do not allow transfers.
Either that, or just get someone to straight purchase it from you is fine as well.
I just called again for myself and was told for a second time that the only way to exit the lease early is a straight purchase for the buyout. The transfers on swapalease are either private leasing companies or payment assumptions for a loan.

Yeah, the "leases" listed on swapalease all note 72 month terms which clearly indicates a loan (a poor one at that).
OP, curious your buyout and whether JLR will give you 2 buyouts--one for you and one for a 3rd party (CarMax, dealer).
Good catch Kief. Was scratching my head reading this and now it makes more sense to me.. people don't usually dump a car they just got (lease or not) to buy something they like better just because it was a "really good deal." Especially when the F-type was also a "really good deal." Good deals come along all the time...
Also note the OP hasn't been back in a couple weeks.. hmm...

Considering the deal I got on my Maserati Granturismo Sport last year, the deal on this jag doesn't seem all that great.

And I can do a lease transfer on my car...but why would I ever do that!

Wow, that is an amazing deal on the Maserati GTS ! I got a quote yesterday for an F type S that has an MSRP of $97K for $1,100 per month with no money down. 36 months / 12K miles a year. Would you mind sharing what dealership and who your Salesman was. I'm in OC and see your in LA.
