Lemon 2016 F-type R
My first F-type was an awesome car. No problems at all, so I know Jaguar builds some great cars. I just happened to get a lemon this time. I am sure it will end well. Jaguar CRC is supposed to contact me either today or tomorrow.
Why did you get rid of the first one?
I traded my first F-type on a 2012 Aston Martin Vantage, then sold that at a profit and bought a 2015 Aston Martin. But, I didn't care for the sportshift transmission....too jerky. So I traded that in on the F-type R. The Aston was a beautiful and well crafted car, but the single clutch automatic was just a bad transmission choice. If it had the 8 speed, like the Jaguar, I would have kept it.

I think , but not 100% sure, it's going to be unveiled middle or end of next year as 2018 model, so you won't have to wait till 2020. Current Vantage is done I believe, orders closed.
Yes, 2016 was the final year for this model. Now the DB11 makes it debut, followed by the Vantage & Vanquish. But I believe the designer of the current Vantage had a hand in the F-type.
Good afternoon Bill0754,
I am sorry to learn of your concerns and the pictures you have provided.
I would be more than happy to look into this for you, however in order for me to do so, can you please kindly provide your vehicle and contact details by PM.
Many thanks,
Amellia

True, and I am suppose to hear by tomorrow. I will keep it posted. I did hear from the dealer today that CRC requested the VIN of the replacement car I picked. Hopefully it means things are coming to a close soon.
Ian Callum was the head of Aston Martin design at the time, I think most of the credit goes to Henrik Fisker though. He knocked it out of the park on his design, probably not to be repeated.
He sure did! I think that the F-type is one of the most beautiful cars currently on the road.
Hopefully CRC will contact me today. If not, then they breached their 72 hour deadline.

It would be great if you could manage to get into an SVR. That is the one to have, such a beautiful car.
I got an email this morning from a Consumer Affairs Specialist. He said "We have reviewed your vehicle's service history and would like to offer you a replacement vehicle." and that he would be in touch tomorrow.
Hopefully this will conclude soon. I have already selected another "R" at my dealer. A Silver one with the black package, 20" 5 Spoke Blade wheels, and the tu-tone black/Ivory interior.

I used the lemon law. In my case, jag USA was unresponsive till I used those magic words. They were friendly after though.
You should get all your money back, so I wouldn't worry about the payments. You could do what others recommended, call them up, give them a deadline, and mention that you want to avoid the lemon law.
WRONG: However, that's morally wrong in my opinion. You should use the lemon law to protect the person the dealer will try to dump the car upon. My 2 pence.

Actually the "Lemon Law" does protect the next buyer. Once a car is declared as a "Manufacturer buy-back" (AKA lemon-law), this will show up on a "Car-Proof" or "Car-Fax" report as such.
