Default Lock doors without folding mirrors?

For photos, I would love to be able to lock my car to hide the door handles but not have the mirrors fold in.

Has anyone figured that out?

Door handles in. Mirrors out.

Currently, my best option is to composite two photos together.

I searched and found two inconclusive threads on the topic.

It's a secret, but I'll tell anyway...

Lock the car.

Manually pop the mirrors out.

Just make sure to pop them back in before you unlock it. Makes some weird sounds if you don't.

I'm sure someone is going to worry about damage to the internals. I give you my guarantee that jag has tested the mirrors getting popped out by soccer moms in parking lots.

Please see your dealer to validate my guarantee.

I believe you can disable auto fold mirrors from the settings menu.

I wish you could.

My trick is to leave the vehicle on, with the key inside. Roll down the window to the opposite side of what you're photographing and hit the lock button while standing outside. Seems to work.

Not sure you can.
I can't on mine, and believe me I have looked everywhere in all possible menus! It could disable this on the XFR, but not on the F-Type.
Maybe it's yet another variation dependant on MY and/or market.

Maybe I'm recalling my XF SC.

How do you get the car to lock with the key inside?

Took mine to the dealer and paid them $35 to disable the folding mirror action.
