Default Major Road Trip in Ftype R

My wife and I just completed a 6000 mile road trip that went feom Toronto through Pennslyvania, North Carolina, Panama City Beach, New Orleans, San Antonio, Las Cruces, Scottsdale, Las Vegas, Grand Canyon, Winslow Arizona (Eagles fans) Alburquerque and home again. My wife was amazed at how comfortable the car was and we both found it fun to drive - even with some long days. Only issue was a puncture which was quickly fixed and otherwise the car performed like a champion. Will be doing a Toronto, California, Vancouver trip in late Spring '17. What a car!

Awesome! Any pix to post? I'm assuming you have a coupe.

That's an accomplishment in the convertible. Did you use a strap-on luggage bag, or another way to increase storage space? Or did you just wear clothes for a few days, throw them away and buy new ones?

Good question. We vacuum packed clothes so we could shove them in the space available and had one small soft sided suitcase that fit into the well in bottom of trunk. Amazed at how much we go in there

I've just checked your route on the map. Looks like a great trip.

It was awesome. Great people, great music, great scenery, great food and a great car.

Glad to hear it! I'm also planning a road trip from Toronto in late Spring '17 of similar proportions.

How'd the car hold up physically? Any dings or other issues?

No dings. Got it washed a few times mainly to get bugs off it and thoroughly detailed on the exterior when home. No dings, scratches or even stone chips that I can see. The car was really great, very comfortable and perfectly reliable. Turned heads everywhere we went and made a lot of hotel valet guys very happy. It was consistently fun to drive and its power allowed us to safely pass other cars on winding secondary roads. A real pleasure that I would highly recommend to anyone.

Even better! They are great long trip cars if you know how to pack right.
