Default Michelin Sport Cup 2

Hey Guys,

Does anyone run these tyres on their F-Types? I am keen to try them as my rears need replacing. The problem is that it doesn't seem like they offer a 255 section for the fronts? If anyone is running them, what did you use for the front tyres?

Great traction (go with the available 265mm). Keep in mind the SC2 are purpose built (streetable) track tires. You'll get much less wear out of them compared with the PS4S (180 wear rating vs. 300)

Thanks! For some arb reason, South Africa doesn't have any stock (and not getting anytime soon) of the PS4S... My choices are between Pirelli, SC2 or Michelin Super Sports.
Considering I daily the car and put on 5000 km's a year, I think I could live with the reduced wear on the SC2's

Also, can you go 305/30/20 in the rears on the stock rims? And more importantly, should you?

305s will fit properly on the wheels and within the wheel wells as long as you aren't using spacers.

Michelin Sport Cup 2 is only slightly better than Michelin Pilot 4S, but Cup 2 will wear down about twice as fast and are a lot less capable in the wet driving.

Personally, I'd advise against going with Cup 2 as it is now obsolete technology when compared to 4S.

I'd love the option. But as I've said I can't get PS4S in South Africa. And I can't wait a month or 4 for new rubber.

My options are:
Michelin Pilot Super Sport
Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2
Pirelli P Zero
Continental Sport contact 6

I'd vote for MPSS. Fine tire.

One of my cars has MPSS, the other 4s. Don't think I could tell the difference...

Unhinged —- won’t 305’s work with 15 mm spacers ?

Excuse me while I butt in and cut Lance's lunch, but IIRC 305's will work with 15 mm spacers as long as you stick with stock height suspension, but that combo will rub/catch on lowered suspension.

Even with stock suspension, the tire will grab a fender if you fully compress the suspension (dropping a rear tire off a curb for example). Don't risk it. You'll bend the sheet metal.

Again, not an issue unless you bottom out the suspension. Some great roads in WV where that is the norm.

I have heard that the Michelin tires run larger too ? I was thinking about getting longer studs and 8mm spacers with vap springs and 305s ?

Finding longer studs might be difficult. When I have 305s mounted, I use 6mm spacers and get a full stud diameter of thread engagement without having to use longer studs or lug nuts with extended shanks. I'm planning on using 10mm spacers if I can find the right lug nuts to use.

My 2017 SVR currently has:
305/265 MPS4S tires, 10mm hub-centric/wheel-centric spacers, VelocityAP drop springs.
All good so far ....
