Default Mobil 1 ESP x2 0W-20 motor oil

I've been using Mobil 1 ESP x2 0W-20 in my 2017 F-Type and my father's Range Rover for a couple of years now. All seemed great because it met the STJLR.51.5122 specification. A couple of day ago I changed the oil on my father's Range Rover. When looking at the unused bottles today, I noticed that the STJLR.51.5122 specification is not listed on the newer bottles. Does anyone know why Mobil 1 dropped the specification? I called Mobil 1's customer service line. The guy that I spoke with was aware of the issue, but they did not tell him why. He doesn't know if the formula changed or Mobile 1 decided that they didn't meet the specification after all.

Yes I run the same oil in my 2014 XJR and yes I noticed the same thing and I think it's just a label change. The label still lists the exact same specs on both bottles but they just dropped the JLR spec. Note the Porsche and MB spec numbers are still the same. Note also it's now an SP oil and the older one listed a SN oil.

You can see the other cosmetic changes made to the label to.

It could be because in 2018 or so JLR changed the specification to STJLR.03.5006. Five years later and with the upgrade to SP they decided to revamp the labeling.

Personally, I use the newer Liqui Moly Top Tec 6600 series oil. Meets specification, with better timing chain protection. I have had great success with LM products and their customer service has been outstanding when I had questions or needed access to engineers, etc for support on a few things.

Just picked up 2 oil change kits with the Ravenol oil. Based on reading Bob is The Oil Guy, it’s a great oil for the F Type
