So I went to check on the status of my sport steering wheel today and discovered a horrific mistake! The shop had ordered the incorrect wheel, and I didn't notice before dropping it off to get new leather and stitching. Now, the work is almost done and I can't even use it on my car! Turns out I have a heated steering wheel, so I can't even just swap out the controls. Anyone have a tan interior that wants a sports steering wheel? Just cover my costs and shipping and it's yours!

Bummer about mis-match.

If you don't mind me asking - what did wheel cost you?

I found an FtypeR and the only option that its missing is a sport wheel...Will have to upgrade.

Honestly that's probably for the best. That stitching looks terrible, they did a very poor job IMO. The wrap job is bad, the brown strip too small, and did they just not even finish it on the bottom left side of the wheel? I wouldn't use this company again.

Looking at the picture it appears they just wrapped another layer of leather round the existing covering. So returning the wheel to stock might need nothing more than a pair of scissors. With care, the cover could then be used on the correct wheel.

it's a long way to ship, but i get Robson Design in singapore to do my wheels

they can add flat bottom and more contour/thicker rim to the wheel as well

most recent wheel i had done by them was on my evo

You're right, in this photo, it wasn't done.

That's actually a good idea. Except, it'd be such a shame. All that work done.

I don't think they did a good job with the stitching at the top where the tan piece is spliced in. Are you happy with that? Lots of mis-matching stitches.

The stitching is questionable. Looks like this one on eBay!~

You can still see where the seams in the original leather were/are.

"All that work" is not a reason to keep it on there.

The one on eBay is probably worth significantly less than a standard wheel...

Definitely the same one.

Sorry it didn't come out as well as you probably hoped. Leather work is tricky business, especially around complicated shapes like a steering wheel.
