Default Money box - F type coin eater

My previous post didn't work so we will try again.

This is a stupid problem!!

How do you guys fish out the lost coins down the sides of seats? I really losing quite few now haha maybe I shouldn't be putting them in pockets that can escape but this always happens.

I really think the rate I'm losing coins I will have enough for the next service haha, I cant even see them!! It's like the F-type eats them and fires them out the exhaust when it makes those nice popping noises

With PayPal, Venmo, ApplePay, plastic and BillPay, I haven't used cash, coin or checks in the last decade, so wayward nickels and dimes don't pose a threat to the seat mechanism.. (I keep a Twenty in my wallet just for nostalgia). Hence no issue retrieving wayward coins. However, I have spent a fair amount of time retrieving a credit card that dropped between the console and seat. Moving the seat full forward and using a flat ruler for reach assisted in the retrieval process.

Aren't coins the things that you keep in a jug in your bedroom closet? For CC retrieval, I've used a flashlight (torch for those of you that used to own us) and a thin mechanic's grabber.

I never carry coins in my pockets - keep a few quarters in the glove box for parking meters though.

You'll find the coins in the dryer vent with your missing socks.

Try a vacuum cleaner with the needle nose or slim attachment tool. My metro vac has one that works. You will need to move seat all the way to front.

Your smallest value note in the US is $1, here in the UK it's £5=$6.5 at the current exchange rate of £1=$1.30
Our coins are £2 £1 £0.50 £0.20 £0.10 £0.05 £0.02 £0.01
So it's usually necessary to have some high value coins ie $2.60, $1.30 as change for parking for instance.
In my home city roadside parking is £5 or $6.5 for 2 hours. The machines take coins only. It is becoming possible to use a smartphone instead but not all towns and cities have this option.
So losing coins under the seats can be an expensive experience

Ok, that explains it. Just about all the parking on the U.S. east coast can be paid by credit card or cellphone app. They keep trying to introduce $1 coins here, and the initiative always fails miserably.

On the plus side it could increase the resale value....
F-Type, x thousand miles, one careful owner(several not so careful), hoard of coins under seats.

Our tolls just went to all electronic (tag or plate reading) - no more toll booths in MA.

Well to misquote Rooster in the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.... "our Govt prefers cash, if you can't scratch a window with it they're not interested"

In Maryland, we still have a few left, but they all take transponders.

There are hardly any toll roads in UK.
In Central London all parking is almost exclusively via cellphone, either by app or using an automated voice system. No phone No parking!

The absence of tolls is made up for by the cost of gas, in my experience of driving in the States with the exception of CA, it works out to be more expensive than UK even with our outrageous gas charges.

Really depends on where you are - some states have no toll roads.

It might add 100kg to the car!! Actually being honest ive learnt just to be more careful and if I have small amounts of change I put these in the charity box by the tills.

Its quite interesting the difference between the UK and US on this change one.
