BTW, any chance that your car is usually parked on San Fernando Rd near Bob Hope Airport? I drive this road to work every day and I could swear I've seen that Auto Talent plate on white F-Type there!

 

Congrats! Looks great. Just curious if you thought about adding spacers and if so why not? I think the F -Type looks much better slightly lower than original set up. I'm considering lowering mine but I think I would also add 10mm spacers potentially.
Any feedback is appreciated

 

10mm is problematic as they are too thick to use on the OEM studs, and too thin to cover the OEM studs while using their own for the wheel. Youd have to replace the OEM studs with longer ones. 6mm is about as thick as you can go using the OEM studs, or the spacers have to be at least 15mm to adequately recess the OEM studs. Even then the OEM studs need to be ground down 2-3mm.

Thank you! If I did not go with aftermarket wheels then spacers were a must. I was riding on stock wheels for about 2 weeks until my wheels were ready and it looked horrible to me.

my mechanic ordered me a set of the KW HAS and should be here in next couple of weeks... AutoTalent, what setting did you put yours to for lowering? or better if i ask how much did you lower it?

 

Should of hit me up for the hookup! Congrats on the purchase. I am lowered all the way down and riding on bump stops. Not the most comfortable ride with 20s and I would not recommend it. I have been meaning to raise it slightly. I would recommend .8 in the front and 1 inch in the rear.

 

if you are riding on the bump stops, it must be the KW bump stops. You can go much lower than you currently are before you hit the F type bump stops.

I'll be the dissenting voice here, I think all of the lowered cars I have seen look better at the top of the wheel but look wierd at the bottom because the gaps at the bottom of the guards look too wide. Also I scrape everywhere I go at normal height and it would be unusable any lower. IMHO 20" wheels in black or dark grey at normal height, gives the best overall look and practicality I also don't like the multi spoke "wagon wheel" look of those wheels. But I am all for doing to your car whatever makes you happy so if you like it then it is a good result.

 

finally getting them installed this coming weekend... was a delay getting them in last fall and then was too late in season to bother installing them.


how easy was the install? did you have to remove panels from the trunk interior for the install?
