New XJ
I was blown away today at my local Jag Dealer. They are offering new 2016 XJ's for 18k off sticker + the 5k JCNA bonus. Everyone wants the F-Pace and the big saloons don't move. I was tempted today by a brand new 2016 XJ Supercharged 470 HP Glacier White car with the new infotainment system (miles better than the previous one in out F-types). I didn't pull the trigger, but that is one helluva deal. A 96k car for 73k. The seats even give you a massage!
Very nice car, but I'm not a fan of anything that has already arrived at the end of the block before leaving the beginning of the block. The XJL is full foot longer than my full size pickup truck.
The other thing is, if you want a 5.0L V-8, better get one. They're going the way of the DODO bird.

I disagree completely. The design of the XJ is revolutionary, and I fear that they're going to make it boring and ruin it. They did that with the XF which is so absolutely dull. I drove the new XF V6 AWD for a week, and it drives better than the old model V6 for sure. However, the interior materials are cheap, and the exterior design is dreadfully boring. I also see that they are cutting corners with tires. The new XF has crap goodyears. Compare that to the new Malibu's that have Michelin's. What is going on in the world?
Seriously, what made Jaguar special to me was that they were uniquely designed, each model was completely different and not small medium and large versions of each other, and we're great values. Now, prices are going up, the technology is a step behind, and they are just following the same cookie cutter pattern of BMW and Mercedes. If they keep going down this road, they are going to do so at their peril because they will offer nothing special.
Lastly, the only reason the XJ does not sell well is because the technology has been behind, and the new infotainment is known to be glitchy. Also, having no V8 AWD model is a killer.
This car could've been very successful, but these omissions have hurt it in the market. If they slightly updated the design but keep it interesting, and address the technology and the V8 AWD issue, they can really have a competitor on their hands.

Gotta love that old Jag depreciation. Hasn't hit the F-TYPEs as bad though.
