Newbie considering a 3.0L 6 cyl engine
Hello all, New member here considering a 2016 F-Pace 6-cyl engine. @2018XF25T kindly suggested I get your opinions on the following:
I have read quite a bit on the forums already and found some issues with coolant leaks common especially on the 35t's. The car I am considering has 82k miles on it. At 67k, the CarFax report says the following:
I have read quite a bit on the forums already and found some issues with coolant leaks common especially on the 35t's. The car I am considering has 82k miles on it. At 67k, the CarFax report says the following:
- Vehicle serviced
- Thermostat replaced
- A/C, heater ducts repaired
- Cooling system checked
- Heater hose(s) replaced
- Intake manifold gasket(s) replaced
- Antifreeze/coolant flushed/changed
One of the issues has yet to be addressed. That engine likely has the old style seamed coolant pipes that are prone to fail. With that many miles it is time to have all those pipes replaced with either the redesigned plastic seamless pipes, or metal ones.
Search this forum for information on replacing the coolant pipes. There is a ton of information on that topic here.
You may also find more relevant information in the F-Pace forum as this is the F-Type forum.
