Default And now for Caldera Red.

Not seen many in the new Caldera Red. Fresh from from the dealership. Looking forward to a more positive relationship with this F-Type. Very happy with the colour and improvement in paint quality.

Thanks. Caldera replaced Salsa for all new builds from June onwards. Its slightly less orange and more bluey.

I wanted this colour but Jaguar Canada said that thet were not going to offer it. I had to go with IRR instead at an extra $1600. I hate Jaguar Canada. No InControl Remote, only 1 year maintenance and just a 4 year warranty. I really can't trust them to know what they are doing. It will be my last Jag.

An improvement over the orange Salsa IMO. Looks nice Mawheele...good luck, and I hope you are as happy as we are with our replacement!

Mawheele,

That is gorgeous and reminds me of my favorite red of all time, which was called "Imola Red" on a 1998 M-Roadster. It was an M-exclusive color at the time, but haven't seen it for years. It leans toward the blue rather than orange part of the spectrum.

I'm afraid to ask about the Meridian in this car, but I guess I just did.

You guys keep mentioning orange in the salsa red. I went out today in the sun trying to figure out what you mean by looking at my car in different angles. I don't see any orange in my salsa red at all?

Salsa is also beautiful, and it is also red. If you look at two reds side-by-side, they will often appear as different shades, particularly in bright light. Since red resides somewhere between shades of blue/violet and shades of orange/yellow in the color/light spectrum, reds generally lean one way or the other. Caldera leans blue, and Salsa leans orange.

It's just personal preference.

Foosh, you cease to amaze me with your knowledge of cars! I still want an RV like yours though :-)!

Looks beautiful! I also have the salsa red and like Jagbrian said I can't tell any difference. Maybe if in person I saw the two side by side I could tell. Either way its gorgeous.

I know exactly what you mean. My BMW 330ci is red and has the orange hues. In fact, when I look at the car through one particular pair of sunglasses that I own, it looks orange and not red. My F-Type in IRR has the blue hues to it. When they are parked in the garage next to each other the color spectrum difference is very clear.

I happen to always lean towards orange but when I saw the IRR compared to the Salsa Red in April when I placed my order, I still went with the IRR. It looked "deeper" to me if that makes any sense. As is said often on this site...IJMO!!

Congrats on the new F-Type. Look forward to an enjoyable ride.

This is absolutely a beautiful coupe and color! Every time I see it in the pictures, I nod my head in definitive approval, and wish I had this color "also", i.e. on top of mine, but my wife won't allow 2 "F" types in the garage :-)! She is right....only Jay Leno can have multiple cars and be praised for his collection, not me as cars are my curse, but i don't mind being cursed...great vice!

Side by side really shows the difference of hues in the reds. Here in bright sunlight. IRR leans to the blue and is darker, Garnet Red leans orange.

I owned an Imola E39 M5 for several years. Great color, and even better car.
