...and now, the end draws near...

I really was actually enamored with the Focus RS way before its debut however the boy racer thing and the ugly econobox(?) rear end was just too much. Watching Ken Block drive one, or even better, just the ST is very entertaining.
I WAS a boy racer 30 years ago, not now; now just an adult idiot hahaha.

"Mustang V8 - great car for the money. Again - boyracer image."
True - except if you're paying the premium of buying one in the UK.
I'd agree with Cayman/Boxster as the best alternatives, but my first suggestion would be a F-Type. It's going to be a while before it gets as old/boring as other cars start out to be. And, if you're coming off a lease, check the buyout price.

Last weekend's Test Drives:
M2. Good fun, DCT only worked properly in Sport, noisey tyres;
A45 AMG. Very nice interior, marketing-led chassis modes, an exhaust that guarantees following vehicles keep a sensible distance after the first up shift;
Golf R. Really very civilised, sounds surprisingly good when you're not being civilised.

I drove the car with my wife and a rather large sales manager in the car and it certainly didn't feel as peppy as my base coupe (even though the advertised HP is 354 vs 340HP) but I'm certainly willing to give up some acceleration for a more refined, well-appointed interior plus Quattro, LSD and all the other techno features this car has...it'll be much easier to see out of and park, now comes the wait.

My lease ends in October and I have a '18 S5 Prestige coupe on order, Navarra Blue with Magma Red interior.

Thanks, I thought so too...the moment I saw the diamond stitched pleated seats, I knew I had to have it. Some people are scared of this color combo but after searching, I found a dealer who was willing to order the car without a deposit.
I'm certainly breaking away from my standard White/Black,lol.
