Default odd question about 02 sensors and exhaust

hey guys,

would a bad 02 sensor affect the exhaust at all?? i had a check engine light come on last week and the sensor was the problem so they fixed that. now the check engine light is on again and the exhaust doesn't seem to be what it was?? Anyone have this issue at all??
